Inverters, converters, and sometimes even transformers are all words for the same thing: A device that converts a battery's direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC). Work Systems' inverters have a pure sine wave which means less risk of damage to sensitive electronics. This allows you to use your inverter for many of the tools you have in the car such as a computer, drill, etc. With a pure sine wave in your inverter, efficiency also increases compared to a modified sine wave. An inverter/transformer works by converting the DC produced by the vehicle's battery and generator into the AC that most electrical tools and appliances require. A 12V to 230V converter must be properly sized to handle the load you plan to connect, and it's important to choose a converter with sufficient power for your specific needs.
When choosing an inverter/transformer, you should first map out which tools and appliances you need to power.
